Going Back To The Well… A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master

That’s right The Massive One is back with another A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master home video inside look.
I recently perched A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master on DVD, I know I’m late to the party. Since the 1999 VHS box set release there was no reason for me to double dip and buy the DVDs. Since then, yeah I bought A Nightmare on Elm Street on DVD – the Infinifilm edition and found New Nightmare used for dirt cheap. And both films has some kind of commentary or behind the scenes features. Back to The Dream Master, if you will. I retired my 1999 VHS copy of Nightmare 4, the tracking was getting bad and the tape has been eaten twice by my VCR. But I’m going to miss the days of working the tracking out and rewinding the tape, but the future is here and with my brand new DVD here’s what I have to say.

First, the VHS interviews are missing from the DVD that you would find at the very end of the VHS after the credits. The only special features on the DVD is a Theatrical Trailer for said film, Jump to a Nightmare, Cast & Crew – where you can read up on the cast, and lastly Audio Options… Really! Audio Options, you mean subtitles is an extra and so is 5.1 Surround Sound… Oh Massive I hit the jackpot. If you gotta call audio options an extra you’re just trying to fill extra DVD memory.

As I stated before, a cast or director’s commentary would make this bare bones DVD a Massive buy from day one. But since it doesn’t have any of that I’m still happy I bought the DVD. It’s my all time favorite horror film that has a great soundtrack, effects and a heroine that kicks ass and is still alive and well after the sequel ends… Unless you read the comics, but that’s a story for another time. This is The Massive One telling all of you to check out more of my work at Drunken Zombie and be sure to follow DZDoiner. Also a Massive thank you to Johnny Krueg for bringing me back to Krueger Nation one more time! Massive.
